Well DAMN

In which Derek Hale pulls a Hawkeye and buys out an entire building, and I now need all the fic in which he’s the most earnest and well meaning landlord, and his tenants put up with his ridiculous werewolf shenanigans, and there are rooftop barbecues.

"And there whole first floor is a gallery full of my paintings. They sell on pretty good price, actually. But any the money I get for he paintings goes to charity so.. " *shrug*

#that awkward moment when a 48 year old scifi show has more continuity #than a 2 year old series about misfit high schoolers

*ahem- 50 year old…

But also that awkward moment when the Forest of Cheem’s sacrifice is relegated to unimportance in Moffat’s world. Her bravery and kindness don’t matter, and she’s turned into yet another cheap joke about women being infatuated with the Doctor.

That she fancied the Doctor did not feature at all in the season 1 episode. She was curious about his origins, she had sympathy for him, and she gave her life so he could save the rest of the people aboard the base. I personally don’t see her fawning over him (like so many of Moffat’s women do). Thus, with no real evidence to draw this from, Moffat seems to be interpreting her sacrifice as “fancying” the Doctor, which is immensely problematic: It suggests that she did this only for him rather than to save everyone on the ship, and it shows yet another example of Moffat thinking that any woman who interacts with the Doctor must be infatuated with him.

Even if she did fancy him, the fact that Moffat considers her actions negligible in comparison to her “crush” is pretty gross, especially when the payoff from this line is so small. All it does in the context of the episode is set up the Doctor as an object of desire. But in the context of the show, it undermines the agency and power of women to act with bravery and integrity without it being all for the Doctor.

lmao i remember complaining about this exact same thing on this exact same gifset back in 2011

additionally THAT’S NOT EVEN HER NAME

her name was Jabe??? this is like saying ‘i met the human race once. they fancied me’

I think the tags should have been #that awkward moment when Moffat tries to reference his predecessor’s run and that’s what he comes up with

Moffat is personally responsible for my transformation from a massive sobbing mess of a Who fan to a person who has not watched a full episode in literally years

Look, you can have faves who are problematic cause it’s almost impossible for someone to not be problematic because humans make mistakes all the time, but if they continue to fuck up and show blatant disrespect to a group of people and you continue to defend their actions then you are part of the problem.

"What it was going to be, we were trying to complicate the relationship between Cap and his S.H.I.E.L.D agent friends. If Hawkeye got a call from S.H.I.E.L.D saying Captain America is a fugitive, would he listen to that call or not listen to that call? That sequence actually was heartbreaking for us to cut it. I think it ultimately might have been a conflict with Renner’s schedule. But there was a great sequence where Hawkeye was chasing Cap through Washington D.C. there was an awesome sequence where they confronted each other in a ravine on the outskirts of D.C. and Hawkeye was shooting a series of arrows closing in on Cap, Cap closing in on him. And then Cap took him down and he realized for the first time that Hawkeye was trying to trick S.H.I.E.L.D, where he whispered something into Cap’s ear that Cap had a tracker on his suit and to punch Hawkeye to make it look real, because there was a Quinjet hovering above where they were watching the feedback back at S.H.I.E.L.D. So it was a cool sequence."

This week I finally declare my love for nbchannibal try to make sense of Hannibal, the serious show, and the Fannibals, it’s very silly fandom. Instead, I get lost in a haze of puppies.

But seriously, the Fannibals are some of my favorite fans. They were the first ones to respond to my request for more fandom blogs to follow and now my dash is mostly Hannibal. And I’m a little afraid.

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Tumblr or Yahoo Inc. - just a fan who spends too much time on the aforementioned website. I also make no claim to “Hannibal” or any of it’s related media. I sincerely do not want to be made into dinner.

(Video also contains bonus karaoke this week. You’ll see)

One of my favourite things about Harry Potter is that Harry is such an unreliable narrator, not because he’s lying, but because he was so oblivious, just about anything could be going on under his nose and he wouldn’t even notice. It’s great because it supports basically every headcanon. Like, no, Harry would not have noticed if Sirius and Remus were dating, I know he’s The Chosen One but he’s about as perceptive as a pile of bricks.
